Today’s Encouragement is John 14:13 NLT “You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father.”
In my name-
Once upon a time… a young man walked into a bank and asked to withdraw $10,000. The teller skeptically asked “and what account number?” The young man replied with his account number and was told, “I’m sorry sir there is only $26.15 in your name.” The man said, “Ok, how about my Father’s Name? His account number is 1234567.” The teller straightened up and said “Of course sir! How would you like your money?”
Asking, praying In Jesus’ Name is drawing from His unlimited Wealth, Power, and Strength. Not limited to money or the wealth of this world, but more importantly to the immeasurable power which God has. We have access, through prayer, to ask Him for whatever we need… because He already owns, controls, and manages everything!
We pray in Jesus’ Name and so approach God the Father as one of Jesus’ people, His disciples, His chosen ones. When we ask in Jesus’ Name, God’s ear is attuned to our request. God is still sovereign, He still knows what is best for us, and for His plans for us (Jeremiah 29:11), so, He still decides!
My friends, we have been given permission- by Jesus- to ask for anything- in His Name!
This is the Power of the Name of Jesus!
