Today’s Encouragement is James 4:14b ESV “What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.”
You are a mist –
We all too often focus on our daily earthly life, as if this life was ‘all there is’. Now, certainly we need to make the most of the days we have here, being productive, helpful, working while it is day, resting and Loving God and others to the best of our ability. He alone enables us to live and enjoy this life! Yet if only for this life we have hope… we are to be pitied! (1 Cor 15;19)
This earthly life is a mist my friends, a nanosecond of the eternity which we, as eternal beings will enjoy with God. And we have, now, already, this eternal life, it isn’t something we ‘get’ when we leave this world… our eternity has already begun! (John 5:24)
And one day my friends, those of us who believe, trust in Jesus as our savior… will see Him face to face… and then my friends,
nothing.
else.
will.
matter.
Father, open our eyes to the brevity of this life, and the magnitude of eternity with You. Grant us clear perspective Lord.
