Today’s Encouragement is 1 John 4:12 NLT No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.
If we love –
What are you known for? What do folks think of when you come to mind? Is it your beauty, strength, determination, wealth, accomplishment? Or is it your weaknesses, failure, illness, pain, fears, and sorrow. We often say, “It doesn’t matter what people think of me, I’m my own person!” And truly we are not defined by what others think, nor judged by it… however, is it possible that the fruit of your life… that which your life produces as its result… is fairly evident to all?
Think for a moment about someone, anyone… and what characteristics come to mind? See? It’s true for everyone… we see the fruit, the result, the essence of that life in certain terms, literally the aspects of their character- their characteristics.
Now the mirror. What do others see in you?
My friend, nothing but God’s Love matters. Not self-confidence nor self-doubt, not success nor failure, not beauty nor homeliness, nothing else matters! Except the Love of God! When we are recognized as being a person who loves others, with Godly Love… all other characteristics fall away.
This is how we can live, free of all the traps and trappings of this earth, our own expectations and those of others….
Of course, we can only Love with His Love when His Love has filled our lives. V 19, We love – because – He first Loved us!
Father help us to love others, because You live in us, and You loved us first.
