Today’s Encouragement is Hebrews 13:15 NLT “Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to his name.”
Proclaiming our allegiance-
When we hear the word allegiance, most older Americans remember that in our youth, “The Pledge of Allegiance” was quoted, pledged every day in our schools. No longer.
But this isn’t written to bemoan days gone by…
We have a greater pledge of allegiance… to Jesus! We pledge allegiance to Jesus Christ, to His Name, His kingdom! And we do this by offering a continual sacrifice of praise…. One version translates ‘the fruit of lips that acknowledge His Name’.
Our lives can be, are best when we: acknowledge, proclaim, pledge allegiance to Him. We sing His praises, tell others the blessings we have received, offer encouragement to them through our hope in Christ! Nothing…. Nothing… Nothing else matters my friends. Not wealth, fame, health or even family! Not even the love of our spouses… as wonderful as those things all are…
Nothing else matters!
What are you speaking about? What is the fruit of our lips? Our life, our actions, our words, reveal our allegiance.
Father help us to live this day with a continuous and sincere allegiance to, gratitude for, and proclamation of, the Good News of Jesus; the Freedom, Grace, and Love which He has provided for us, and for all who believe and trust Him.
