Today’s Encouragement is Genesis 47:9 NLT Jacob replied, “I have traveled this earth for 130 hard years. But my life has been short compared to the lives of my ancestors.”
Traveled this earth –
Friends, we are only traveling this earth, just visiting this place, this life, for a while. Jacob said, I’ve only been here 130 years, and they’ve been tough years.
Is it possible that this life will not be worth remembering when we are in eternity with God?
Some console themselves with earthly loss by saying, ‘I’ll see them up there and we’ll be reunited in the ‘sweet by and by’ but… really? Is that all that heaven is about, a friends and family reunion?
Is it possible that we’re only able to grasp a simple thought or two about Eternity?
I like to remember this verse… 1 Corinthians 2:9 NLT. That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”
We cannot even imagine….
Father thank You for preparing a place for us which is so much more wonderful than the best life in this earth. Strengthen us for these hard years on this earth and thank You for the promise of an infinitely better life eternal with You.
