He gave His life to

Today’s Encouragement is Titus 2:13-14 NLT “while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed. [14] He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.”

He gave His life to –

My friends, Did Jesus fail?

Consider this, either Jesus failed, or… everything He came to do, everything He intended, every single purpose of God, through Christ, was perfectly achieved!  Was – has been already – completed.

What’s the point?  Just this, each time we read the phrase, ‘Jesus came to…’. Recognize He didn’t fail, He never fails!  It is done!

In this passage – He came to…

to free us from every kind of sin,

to cleanse us, and

to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.

We are, because we believe, because He never fails… Already, now, and forever,

Set Free from every kind of sin!

We are Clean!

We are God’s own people!

We are totally committed to do good!

As we consider these truths, since Jesus never fails, the last point seems to stand out to me.  The first three are Jesus’ accomplishments; He has already done this for us! The last point, however, is Our part, our commitment to do good… to live lives of kindness, gentleness, generosity, and wisdom.

No condemnation for His children my friends, but a recognition of our role in this relationship with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit… to love God and love others… by doing good…

Father grant us the privilege of demonstrating our gratitude, our love, in doing good this day, because You are always so good to us.
