Today’s Encouragement is 1 Thessalonians 2:12 NLT We pleaded with you, encouraged you, and urged you to live your lives in a way that God would consider worthy. For he called you to share in his Kingdom and glory.
That God would consider worthy –
It matters ‘how we live’ my friends! Now, we don’t earn our salvation by ‘doing’ anything other than accepting Christ as our Lord- believe in Him and we are saved. That is the beginning of our new life. Then we begin to live our new life… ‘in a way that God would consider worthy’.
What does that look like?
Perhaps a ‘worthy life’ would be:
– Respecting God and His creation, (including people) by Loving God and loving others (which is the new commandment Jesus gave us.)
– Being Grateful, Thankful, for the blessings we do have, not longing after the things we don’t have.
– Recognizing that we are Christ’s ambassadors and living accordingly.
The list could go on with the many opportunities we have to reflect Him to this world around us. But remember, we do this to demonstrate our Love for God, not to win His love, but to show our love to Him. “We love because He first loved us.” 1 John 4:19
Father help us, as Your children, to live lives that You would consider as worthy. Show us the way.
