Radiant with Joy

Today’s Encouragement is Psalm 34:5 NLT Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.

Radiant with joy –

Look to the Lord – It seems every physical description of God includes brilliant light.  Brighter than the sun, blinding (to our human eyes), glorious (we have never experienced anything like this Light), penetrating, purifying Light.  Moses’ face was shining, it was radiant, after his face-to-face encounter with God.

Those who look to Him for help will be radiant with joy.

I confess that often when I am calling to God for help, I am rather desperate, needy, sometimes fearful, uncertain, and far from joyful.  And that happens naturally when I’m looking at what I fear and crying out to God.  Is it possible that turning my back to the fear, the things, people, events that cause fear in my heart and then turning toward God, focusing my mind and heart and gaze toward Him and not toward my fear… can bring me to become… radiant with joy?

We choose, don’t we?  To either ‘face our fear’ in our own strength or turn away from our fear toward Him and toward His strength.

Lord help us look to You.  You are The Source of everything good.  And Lord, may we also become radiant with Your Joy!

God I look to You
