Let the Word dwell

Today’s Encouragement is Colossians 3:16 ESV Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you –

We choose.  What dwells in you?  What occupies your mind?  Is it the needs or worries of the day or the future, the problems you’re facing, the diagnosis, the envy of those ‘friends on Facebook’ who have such an apparently ‘happy’ life?  What is dwelling in your heart and mind?

Remember, we choose.

The Bible teaches us to let the word of Christ dwell in us.  Hard to do? Impossible? Impractical? Unrealistic? Escapism?  “You just don’t understand…”. Our minds and the lies of this world would suggest all these excuses and more.

My friends the greatest wisdom, from God Himself, is available to us in numerous forms.

May I suggest, just try it!  Try an experiment.  For a period of time, you decide when and how long, make the choice to let His word dwell in you richly, if only for a few moments a day… spend time in reading His word, listening and participating in worshipping Him, prayerfully waiting on Him, listening to Biblical teaching and preaching…. Let Him, His Word, Dwell…richly… in you.

This is our prayer Lord, dwell, remain, abide in us, by Your word, and by Your spirit.

Abide with me
