Today’s Encouragement is 1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.
One mediator-
Christ is the mediator between us and God. He stands between God’s Holiness and our sinfulness, and He resolves the irresolvable, He reconciles God to man and man to God.
He is the perfect one, the only one who can do so. He’s experienced what we have experienced (every temptation) and He also fully knows God’s heart. He knows both sides, the earthly and the heavenly.
And He reconciles us. He has compassion. He understands fully the holiness of God, and – also, the unworthiness of man. In every way Christ is the perfect One to mediate, to reconcile. He alone.
He does not mediate through persuasive words, brilliant eloquence, nor impassioned pleas but by This… He died for our sins. Once for all.
So, my friends, we who trust Him as Savior and Lord… are at perfect Peace with God. Sinless, Pure, and perfectly Loved by God the Father.
Lord God, help us to grasp this amazing gift of righteousness.
