Today’s Encouragement is 2 Chronicles 18:13 But Micaiah said, “As the LORD lives, what my God says, that I will speak.”
What my God says –
Micaiah was a prophet summoned by King Ahab, and Ahab had in mind what he wanted Micaiah to say… but the prophet clearly and boldly told the king (he was risking upsetting the king and losing his life!). “I will ONLY speak what God says!”
We aren’t Old Testament prophets; we don’t reveal to others what God says… He’s already given us His Word to proclaim His truth, we just read it and preach His word!
And yet, this verse prompts the thought… what message am I speaking? From what perspective, from the world’s perspective or from God’s… Am I speaking what God says?
God says: You are my beloved child.
The world says: You can be anything you want to be, or you’re a loser or anything in between
God says: Love Me and love others as yourself
The world says: take everything you can get, you can’t trust anyone but yourself, if you try to help others, they’ll just take advantage of you
Are the words I speak proclaiming God’s Truth, His Hope, His Love to this lost and dying world? Or am I parroting the lies of this world with my words?
Father God, help us to Know Your Truth, by reading and honoring Your Word, and to speak… only what You say is Truth.
What do you say
