Today’s Encouragement is 1 Corinthians 14:3 On the other hand, the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation.
Upbuilding, encouragement and consolation –
Prophesy, or speaking God’s message, as described here has a purpose. Not to build up the one who prophesies, not to condemn anyone, not to expose the sinfulness of the people, not to inflict God’s judgement, not to convict us of our specific sins or our overall sinful nature. Rather – it is for the upbuilding of Gods children, His beloved, adopted sons and daughters, gathered to encounter Him in some way in this moment in time.
And He desires to have His children receive words of upbuilding, encouragement, and consolation.
Friends, this world condemns us, our hearts condemn us, the recognition of our sinfulness condemns us, we cry out to God from our condemnation, our sinful, hopeless state and He responds – not with more condemnation… but with a Holy, Righteous, Loving Father’s act of Grace, Mercy, and Forgiveness. As the father in the Prodigal Son parable… he gave no condemnation, only a loving embrace and restoration.
This is the Father’s Love for us. Go to Him for this perfect Love and Grace.
Because we are saved by His Grace, and we accept His Grace and love – Do not accept condemnation from anyone for anything. Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ.”
