Today’s Encouragement is 2 Corinthians 1:11 You also must help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many.
The prayers of many –
Paul writes describing his need that the church continue to pray for him, and pray together, the same prayer (that Paul would be delivered from death so that he could continue to preach the gospel).
And notice the reason, “so that many will give thanks” So, is it possible my friends, that in God’s perfect and grand design, we as the church are invited to join together in prayer so that we all then get to experience the privilege of seeing God’s answer? So that we can be part of the many who will give thanks?
We don’t ‘sway’ God by the numbers of people praying for a certain outcome, a healing, or change in a leaders heart, or salvation for one lost person. God doesn’t count our prayers, or the number of years we’ve prayed daily for our most fervent longings… Yet He hears. And when many pray, He hears from many. We trust that He does. The Bible is full of answered prayers. And we also know that at times He doesn’t answer in the way we desire. Still, He hears!
Yet, He is the only source of any good and perfect gift (James 1:17). So we ask. Alone or en masse, with tears or through smiles of trust and joy, on our knees or on our face, with hands uplifted or clenched in passion. We ask. We trust. We seek His help. We seek Him in prayer.
Thank You Father that You hear our every prayer. We trust in You.
Lord I need You
