Today’s Encouragement is Psalm 146:3-5 “Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation. [4] When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish. [5] Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God”
Whose hope is in the Lord –
Where is our hope? On what, in whom, does our hope rest? I was talking with a friend the other day, and he quoted some meaningful sounding words and then said, “And I’ve never forgotten that!” although it had been many years.
We humans latch onto things, ‘wisdom’ gathered from here and there, the opinions of others we respect, or things which seem to us to be wise. We accept it and then that information becomes part of us, molds and influences us, often without our conscious awareness.
The libraries, the bookstores, the bookcases in our homes, and now the internet, are overflowing with advice, information, ‘wisdom’, and instruction… Yet, all this, my friends, is Only Someone’s Opinion! They may get lots of others to agree with them, but that doesn’t make it Truth!
We often heard it said these days, ‘We can’t trust the media, the news, the government, even ‘the church’! So, who can we trust?”
I have decided – I will trust God, I chose to trust the Bible, I choose to put His Truth in my heart daily. His truth is eternal. Jesus said it “I am the Truth.”
Who do you trust for truth in your life? My friends there is no other source… God alone is our Source of life, truth, hope and strength.
Almighty God, help us to choose Your Truth over the teachings of man.
My Hope
