Today’s Encouragement is Psalm 143:8 Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.
In the morning –
What better to hear, first thing every morning, than the steadfast love of the Lord?
Our focus, our thoughts, our mindset, are powerful influences over our lives.
Just consider, if any proof is needed – your first thought of the day is “I have to go to the doctor because this lump might be cancerous.” As compared to, “Today I get to have a long lunch with my best friend!”
Who’s going to have a better day? Well of course, we don’t know for sure, but I’d rather start hopeful and optimistic then dreading the day and it’s ominous implications!
And hearing of, considering, the Steadfast Love of the Lord – every morning! provides a positive, hopeful, even joyful expectation of God’s peace and blessings for the day. All from our attitude, all our choice; our focus each day.. in the morning!
When I have postponed, delayed or neglected my first-thing-time-with-God there has always been a clear challenge to my inner peace that day. Predictable, and I believe causative. Any amount of positive thought can improve one’s mental health, but God’s Steadfast Love… oh my friends, nothing is better!
