Today’s Encouragement is John 9:32-34 [The healed blind man replied to the Jewish leaders] “Never since the world began has it been heard that anyone opened the eyes of a man born blind. [33] If this man were not from God, he could do nothing.” [34] They [the Jews] answered him, “You were born in utter sin, and would you teach us?” And they cast him out.
And would you teach us?
“How dare you, a commoner, speak to us with reasoning, trying to teach us anything? We are important! You are a beggar! You have nothing to say to people as high and mighty as we!”
Yet this man born blind, now healed… this beggar, turned teacher… this lost, now found, infirm, now whole… this transformed, new creation… spoke Truth, reasoning with the most powerful people of his nation within moments of his healing.
Notice, my friends, the powerful leaders could not, would not hear him. Nor would they hear or see the reality of Jesus who healed him.
Friends, this world is utterly hostile to the good news of Jesus Christ. Always was and will be until He returns. We are so immeasurably blessed to be His children, to be given the Gift to see and hear what so many others have glimpsed but rejected, denied.
Sound reasoning, even from this miraculously healed man, did not dissuade these leaders from their pre-judgement position. Only God can change a heart, only He can open eyes and ears.
You and I have been so blessed… to have open eyes and ears to see and hear His call, His invitation, His promises… and the recreated Life He gives. Thanks be to God!!!
