Today’s Encouragement is Numbers 15:39-40 “And it shall be a tassel for you to look at and remember all the commandments of the LORD, to do them, not to follow after your own heart and your own eyes, which you are inclined to whore after. [40] So you shall remember and do all my commandments and be holy to your God.
Look at and Remember-
God taught the people of Israel many practical truths, commandments, all designed to keep them safe, healthy, and serving Him.
Tassels would be ‘in the way’. They would dangle and generally annoy. But you’d remember each time you saw the tassel, God says… “I am not my own, I belong to Him” and not to follow “after your own heart and your own eyes.”
Couldn’t we use something practical to remind us the same way today? Tassels might be a bit much, but here are a few ideas I use to “Look at and remember. “
Scripture ’art’ around the home and workplace.
Reminder pop ups with scripture on my computer and phone.
A daily, morning devotional time and place to focus my mind on Him for the coming day.
Christian music – I love singing of God’s love, and the message of His love in song is always refreshing and uplifting to my soul.
Sticky notes of scripture on the bathroom mirror, computer terminal, on the refrigerator, in the toolbox, or the dash of the car.
…You get the idea.
My friends, the Truth of God’s Love and His Word can clarify your mind, thoughts and desires.
To look at and remember!
Remember
