Today’s Encouragement is Luke 9:62 “Jesus said to him, ‘No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.’”
Look back –
Consider an ancient plow, probably pulled by an ox or cow. And the farmer who ‘puts his hand to the plow’. The farmer guides the ox, and thus the plow, and the goal is to move them in the desired direction. When he looks back, his eyes are not on the goal, but on where he’s been, on the past. He’s not focused where he’s going. And Jesus said this one is not fit for the Kingdom!
Is it possible that Jesus was saying to us – Focus on Me, on the Kingdom of God that lies ahead of you, don’t get distracted by looking behind you at your past, your mistakes and troubles, just keep your eyes on the direction you’re going… toward Me, and toward My Kingdom. Then you are on the right path to the Kingdom of God.
And my friend there is no better place, on this earth, in this life, than to be on His path to the Kingdom of God.
No turning back-
