Today’s Encouragement is 2 Corinthians 11:3 But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.
Sincere and pure devotion-
Paul expressed his concern for the believers in Corinth that they were listening to too many teachers with a different message, (v4) proclaiming ‘another Jesus’ or put another way, they were paying attention to others, who were teaching another way to be saved, besides Jesus.
Paul was passionately appealing to them to keep their focus on Jesus alone! He used this beautiful phrase to describe his desire for them
‘a sincere and pure devotion to Christ’.
Isn’t this our desire as well?
Father, Creator, God help us to focus our hearts on a sincere and pure devotion to Christ! Grant us the blessing of single-minded devotion to Jesus. May we be devoted only to You through Christ. You alone are God – and Christ alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Devotion
