Today’s Encouragement is Mark 5:18-19 As he [Jesus] was getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed with demons begged him that he might be with him. [19] And he did not permit him but said to him, “Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.”
Tell them how much –
In one of the most remarkable stories in the New Testament, Jesus delivered this notorious and terribly tormented man of his many demons.
Notice the result, the liberated, reborn, saved, delivered man – begged that he might be allowed to go with Jesus. (Notice the wording, “begged him that he might be with” Jesus.)
Friends, What has He done for you? How has He had mercy on you?
Do Jesus’ words apply to you and me? “Go home to your friends and tell them – how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.”
Not a command ‘do this or else’, but words of wisdom and blessing, guidance and encouragement from Jesus to this newly reborn soul… and to us today.
Lord help us to recognize how much You have done for us, and realize how great Your mercy is for us, and then Lord- help us to express our sincere gratitude by telling our friends how much You have done for us!
Look what the Lord has done
