Dare to ask Him

Today’s Encouragement is Matthew 22:46 “And no one was able to answer him a word, nor from that day did anyone dare to ask him any more questions.”

Dare to ask Him –

The leaders tried to trap Jesus. Matthew 22:15 “Then the Pharisees went and plotted how to entangle him in his words.”

They thought that they could outsmart Him, because they refused to believe that Jesus was The Son of God. (which is kinda funny… but don’t we all do that at times, try to outsmart God?)

Foolish, fearful, and power-hungry (aren’t we all?) they tried to manipulate him.  But, Jesus easily and brilliantly countered their every trap!  So clearly did He defeat their intellect, as stated in v46, ‘no one dared to ask Him anymore questions.’

Yet – to us, His followers, His brothers, His friends…  Jesus encourages our questions and requests, as He says Matt 7:8 “For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.”

Ask and receive –

Because we belong to Him, we can dare to ask Him anything.  And my friends, He will always answer, and brilliantly!

Father God help us to continue to ask, to trust, to wait and to listen.  You are our Source of every good and perfect gift… All we need You provide.  Help us to ask… and to wait for You to respond.  Thank You Father for this immeasurable privilege of being Your child; that we might ask of You… and receive…
