Today’s Encouragement is Ezekiel 44:5 And the LORD said to me, “Son of man, mark well, see with your eyes, and hear with your ears all that I shall tell you concerning all the statutes of the temple of the LORD and all its laws. And mark well the entrance to the temple and all the exits from the sanctuary.
Mark well –
Gods told Ezekiel to ‘mark well’ certain things. This terminology is somewhat strange to us today, but it can be translated as ‘set your heart’.
We ‘mark well’ the things which are important to us. We ‘set our heart’ on those things.
Home address, birthdays, things we need to do today, bank balance, next holiday plans… wise sayings, people who are loyal to us and who aren’t… we mark well these things.
God instructed Ezekiel to mark well the laws, statutes, and instructions. And the entrance and exits of His temple.
My friends, as His believers, we generally have already marked well His statutes, the new commandment to love God and our neighbors as ourselves. What about these entrances and exits to His sanctuary?
Today His sanctuary is your heart and my heart. Not a church building, or any physical place but a spiritual temple. And the entrances and exits?
What are we allowing to flow into and out of our hearts? We are His temple, what enters and exits our hearts and lives?
Mark well – put your heart on, consider, give thought to, remember, call to mind, think on these things…
