Today’s Encouragement is Matthew 6:1 “Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.
In order to be seen –
Like the widow who gave two coins. It’s not two coins – but that she, in Faith, put in all she had.
Like the cup of cool water because of being a disciple, it’s not the water… it’s the reason behind the action.
Like the woman who washed Jesus feet with her tears, it wasn’t the washing of someone’s feet… but her act of sincere devotion and deep worship of Him.
So, is it possible that: Why we act… is more important than what we do?
As in these examples, simple acts done – just because we are His people – can be powerful demonstrations of faith. Not so that others will see… but so that we choose to act on our faith in God. Not so God will see- He already knows the depth of our faith. It’s not for anyone to ‘see’ our actions or even the faith behind our actions. It is out of our hearts, out of our desire to be true to God… we act in faith so that we become stronger in faith. God determines whether or not our faith-actions are seen or ignored by others… that’s not our business, nor our goal.
Our business, our goal- is to truly live out, act upon, our faith – in this life. Because we are His, we Love and we Honor Him, this is why we do things in faith!
Father, we need You to help us to live this life of Faith, to be directed by You and to be surrendered to You. Thank You for helping Your children to love and serve You Lord.
I belong to You
