Leaning

Today’s Encouragement is Ezekiel 29:6-7 Then all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am the LORD. “Because you have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel, [7] when they grasped you with the hand, you broke and tore all their shoulders; and when they leaned on you, you broke and made all their loins to shake.

Leaning –

Whatever we choose to rely on, to lean on, will fail us and ultimately harm us.  Except God. Everyone, everything and even every nation will fail to provide the security, protection, and strength we seek.  We rely on these to our own peril!

Israel was repeatedly told to trust only in the Lord for their help their needs and their strength, and yet they, all too often, went after other gods, put their hope and trust in nations, leaders, and gods for the help they needed.  And as they leaned on Egypt, Egypt failed them, and their shoulder was broken.

My friends – no nation, no religion, no leader, no other god, is trustworthy, faithful, and strong enough for us to lean on, depend on, to call upon for help in our troubles.  Only our God is able to be all this to us.  And only Jesus is the way to God.

Lean on Him! ‘Then all will know that I AM the Lord’
