Today’s Encouragement is 1 John 5:1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him.
Everyone who loves the Father –
We love God. It’s difficult for us to understand ’how’ to love God. But we have several indications in the Word that help us develop a picture of what it means to Love God.
In this verse. Those who love God – love His children, all of His children. There is a love for the people of God that wells up within the believer… and this is a gift from God… and this is loving God.
Hebrews 6:10b (NIV) reads ‘the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.’ Helping Gods people is showing Love to God.
In 1 John 5:3a ‘For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments.’
And finally, 1 John 4:19 ‘We love because he first loved us’
Therefore, we can love Him and love others… because His Love First, came into us, and then His Love flows out of us, back to Him and also to His children.
We love You Lord – because You first loved us.
