Subdue It

Today’s Encouragement is, “You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.”Genesis 4:7 NLT

Subdue it –

When we do what is right, living in the light, in honesty, in humility, and in faithfulness to ourselves and our God, we are at peace, accepted, and blessed.

But if we refuse- when we do what is wrong and turn away from the narrow road of faith in God, our eyes are enticed by the things of this world: money, power, the desires of our flesh. We need to watch out, because “sin is crouching at the door.”

It crouches, waiting for the chance to jump on us, attach itself to us, and enslave us, making us puppets of its destructive power.

God then explains, “But you must subdue it and be its master.” We turn the table on sin, look it in the eye, and proclaim, “The blood of Jesus has saved me; you have no power over me. Get away from me.” Just as Jesus confronted Satan (Matthew 4:10).

“Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.” Romans 6:14 NLT

Thank You, Father God, for showing us how to subdue sin, knowing where it hides, lurking, crouching, and ready to pounce on us. Thank You that we no longer need to fear it, because we have the power to overcome sin by the name, blood, and grace of Jesus.

Thank You Jesus For The Blood Applied
