Today’s Encouragement is, “I rise early, before the sun is up; I cry out for help and put my hope in your words. I stay awake through the night, thinking about your promise.” Psalm 119:147-148 NLT
I Rise Early –
There are certain things many believers do and don’t do. These actions and behaviors don’t save us; only faith in Jesus does. But we can grow closer to God, strengthen our relationship with Him, and vastly improve the quality of our lives by adopting wise, constructive practices while avoiding the unwise.
In today’s verses, we see some wise, positive patterns:
Rise early, in the quiet, to spend time with God.
Cry out for help and pray. We can do nothing without Him (John 15:5).
Put your hope in His words; read the Bible and choose to believe the hope-filled promises of God.
When you have trouble sleeping or wake up and can’t fall back asleep, pray and meditate on His wonderful promises, not your own problems.
When we start our day with Him and remember Him at night, we will naturally and steadily grow stronger in faith, draw closer to Him, and become more aware of His Presence in our lives during the day.
Don’t have the time? Make it. What could you possibly spend your time on that does more for you?
As you grow in your relationship with your loving Father, the time spent with Him, consciously focused on Him, His Word, His immeasurable Love for you, will grow sweeter and more precious than gold.
Thank You, Father, for the privilege of being with You. You are always with us; we are just too busy, too worried, too self-absorbed to notice. Help us stop, rise early, and just be with You.
Just Be
