The Peace I Give

Today’s Encouragement is, “I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” John 14:27 NLT

The Peace I Give –

God’s Peace is a gift; we can’t earn it or achieve it, and we can’t make it happen. We can’t strive for it. His Peace isn’t something we ‘should have’ or ‘ought to show,’ but rather His gift to His children.

Our role in this relationship is utter dependence. We don’t really contribute; it’s not a 50/50 relationship. We are the recipients of God’s blessings. We only accept and receive.

Consider:
“So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.” Matthew 7:11 NLT

Now notice: Today’s verse adds, “So don’t be troubled or afraid.” “So,” because God has given us His Peace, we do not have any need or reason to be troubled or afraid.

In fact, we are taught to reject worry and fear, to pray instead, asking Him for what we need, with grateful hearts (v6) and –
“Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.” Philippians 4:7a

You – will – experience God’s Peace!
His Gift! Beyond anything we can understand.

Father God. We admit we don’t fully recognize the depths of Your Love for us. That You would give us the most wonderful gift of salvation is beyond our human reason. And You also give us other good and perfect gifts, including Your Peace! Please, Father, open the doors, remove all barriers, and help us fully accept all Your amazing gifts, including Your Peace!
