Real Love –
God’s Real Love is infinitely beyond our love. Ours is selfish and only focused on our own needs and desires. Sure, we can be kind and gracious at times, but our underlying motivations for human love are rooted in self-interest.
God’s Love is, like all of His ways and thoughts, distinctively different, higher, greater, and far beyond ours. (Isaiah 55:8-9) His ways are perfect; His Love is perfect.
“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
To grow spiritually and deepen our relationship with our Father God, we must understand that He IS Love! (1 John 4:8) His nature, character, and predominant feature is LOVE!
Since Real Love originates from Him, we are only able to love, anyone, because God loved us in the first place. “We love each other because he loved us first.” 1 John 4:19
He is the source of all Love.
Thank You, Father, for Your Real Love. Without You, there would be no love in this world. We would never experience the joy of loving and being loved, our deepest needs. But You showed us Your immeasurable Love with the gift of salvation through Jesus. Help us to accept, and then to share, Your Real Love.
