We Have Enough –
Do we? Have enough?
Can we then? Let ourselves – be content?
This world’s wisdom cries out, “More, More!” We want more money, recognition, likes, followers, friends, clothes, possessions, toys, excitement, and the list is endless. “Don’t ever be satisfied with what you have; get more!” But this hunger for more is insatiable.
Our true needs are far fewer, simpler, and so much easier to achieve. Jesus reduced it to food and clothing, and even these, He taught us, our Loving Father knows what we need, and He will provide – everything we need.
These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need.” Luke 12:30-31
Contentment is a rare gift, a blessing that comes only when we choose to rest in what God has already provided. Our every breath is from Him; everything we have is from Him; He has provided what we need. In truth, we already have –
more than enough.
Thank You, Father, for all the blessings we have: our food, clothing, and everything we need. Help us be content, at peace, and grateful for everything You have provided. But above all earthly provisions, we especially thank You for the gift of faith in Jesus. He is truly more than enough.
