Today’s Encouragement is, “One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.” Luke 18:1 NLT
Always Pray –
We have the incredible privilege as adopted sons and daughters of the Creator God to come to Him through prayer. Consider this: if we ever had the opportunity to meet the president, how remarkable would that once-in-a-lifetime opportunity be?
We would dress appropriately, rehearse our message, and tell everyone.
And this imaginary encounter is nothing compared to the immeasurable honor of speaking with God Himself.
Through prayer, we speak to, and hear from, our loving, perfect, all-knowing, and all-powerful Father God. It is a conversation between a Father and His dearly loved child.
Jesus Himself prayed. Often by Himself, but also publicly. (His prayers reveal wonderful spiritual truths.) Every believer, and sometimes in a crisis, even nonbelievers, pray.
We can pray in faith and in fear, in hope and in despair, in confidence and in questioning, on our knees or standing, alone or with others, in the morning or evening, as a child or an elder, in the church or in the car. You can see it by now –
always pray.
Father, how can we adequately thank You for this wonderful gift? And to think that You actually want us to always come to You in prayer, that You enjoy the time with us, Your dearly loved people, is too much for us to grasp fully. Please Father, always draw us close to You in prayer.
Draw Me Close To You
