Today’s Encouragement is, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14 ESV
The Word Became Flesh –
Only John described Jesus as “the Word.” Here in John 1, the introduction of his book, and also in Revelation 19:13. In virtually all other uses, the term refers to the spoken or written message from God to humanity. We primarily use it in a similar way to describe the Bible as God’s Word.
But John has introduced us to a compelling thought. Jesus Himself is God’s Word. He is the message that God wants us to know. He contains everything!
He did not say, “I know the way and the truth, watch me, and I will show you; listen to me, and I will teach you.” He said, “I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life.”
His very being, His nature, and His life are The Way, Truth, and Life.
We believe IN Jesus, not only ‘about’ Him; He is the very Word of God—the complete message, exactly the Truth which God desires for us to know and experience. Jesus Is the Word of God.
Thank You, Father, for Your Word, for Jesus who embodies all that You are, and for Your written word which reveals both You and Jesus to us. Help us, Lord, to hear, understand, cherish, and accept Jesus, Your Word.
