Today’s Encouragement is, [Jesus said] “In addition, the Father judges no one. Instead, he has given the Son absolute authority to judge, so that everyone will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son is certainly not honoring the Father who sent him.” John 5:22-23 NLT
Absolute Authority –
This is surprising! Jesus said, “The Father judges no one!” What?
We’ve been taught that God sits in judgment of everyone, but Jesus says, “No!” Instead of Almighty God, Jesus alone is the Judge! God has given Jesus absolute authority to judge!
He then explains why, “So that everyone will honor the Son.”
We say, “Your Honor “ to every judge in every earthly courtroom. No one deserves more Honor than Jesus! And He is our Judge!
He decides our fate! He has absolute authority! And His judgment is always perfect!
And, my friend, Jesus knows us. He has been tempted in every possible way (Hebrews 4:15), He remembers that we are dust (Psalm 103:14), and He has cleansed us and has personally paid the penalty for all our sins, lies, and failures (1 Corinthians 6:11).
Our Judge knows and understands us better than we know ourselves.
Thank You, Father, for allowing Jesus to be our Judge. He knows us perfectly and still loves us. He has judged us by our faith in Him and dismissed all the true and untrue charges against us. Help us to appropriately honor Jesus the Son.
