Today’s Encouragement is, “Jesus replied, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. However, those the Father has given me will come to me, and I will never reject them.’” John 6:35,37 NLT
Never Be Hungry –
Jesus clearly said that those who come to Him and believe in Him will never be hungry or thirsty. But we have come, be do believe, and we still have to eat and drink. So He must be speaking about spiritual hunger and thirst, not the physical.
Our needs are both physical and spiritual. We need food and water, but also relationships, wisdom, purpose, hope, and courage. It’s a long list!
All our non-physical hunger and thirst can only be satisfied by Jesus.
So, when we are spiritually hungry, we need to come to Jesus. He alone fills us; He is our food and water! He alone fulfills and satisfies our spiritual hunger and thirst.
And when we come to Him in our need, in whatever type of hunger and thirst, He will never reject us.
Thank You, our Father, for meeting our every need! We acknowledge that You alone are the sole source of life. Help us to always turn to You alone, regardless of the type of need we have.
