Made Holy

Today’s Encouragement is, “For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.” Hebrews 10:10 NLT

Made Holy –

Notice the timing? “God’s will was.” The past tense is used because it is already accomplished.

By the sacrifice of Jesus, as God desired, willed and directed, we were – Made Holy.

What? Yes, we have been, already, once for all time, made perfectly Holy!

When? When Jesus died for us. How? Because Jesus died for us. Why? Because it was God’s will! Who? Us, all who believe in Jesus as Savior.

Jesus said, as He was dying on the cross, “It is Finished.” (John 19:30)

His work was done, the perfect sacrifice for the sins of humankind, was completed. He accomplished everything God intended, all that He willed, and had finished everything by His life and now, at the last moment of His perfect life, He proclaimed, “It is Finished!”

Among the innumerable spiritual accomplishments, He finished the work of making His people Holy.

It’s critically important that we believe, acknowledge, and accept that He alone has already made us Holy.

Verse 14 further explains that we have been made perfect. Holiness is our perfection before God. Because ofJesus, without regard to our sin, our past, our weaknesses, our efforts to do good or to do bad.

We are already made Holy by Jesus.

How can we thank You enough, Father, for all that You have already done for us? We admit that we can not begin to adequately comprehend our holiness, but, by faith, because You have spoken it, we choose to believe! And we are grateful!
