Today’s Encouragement is, “Sovereign Lord, now let your servant die in peace, as you have promised. I have seen your salvation, which you have prepared for all people. He is a light to reveal God to the nations, and he is the glory of your people Israel!” Luke 2:29-32 NLT
Seen Your Salvation –
Do you know Simeon? His brief but beautiful story is told in Luke 2:25-35. Please read it.
Now, consider this: God announced the arrival of His Son, His Salvation, Glory, the Savior and Transformer of the world, this event, the most eternally significant, pivotal, miraculous occurrence of all time, to a young virgin Mary, her fiancé Joseph, cousin Elizabeth, a few shepherds, Simeon, and the prophetess Anna (v36). Also, the wise men…
That’s it!
Similarly, when Jesus began his ministry and began to reveal himself to the world, He went to his cousin John to be baptised, then to the wilderness for 40 days, and then recruited a rag-tag little group of 12 misfits to begin the transformation of the world, of eternity!
Now, look at history since His arrival, His Life, Death, and Resurrection! Everything has changed!
And the same life-change, transformation, and even rebirth, occurs in the hearts and lives of His followers today. Like Simeon, we too can say, “I have seen Your Salvation!” And now I can die in peace! Nothing else matters.
Thank You, Father, for stepping into Time and also into the lives of Your people. Thank You for the beautifully quiet, yet reverent, arrival of Jesus, the subtle, yet profound, announcement of His birth, the miraculous and perfect unfolding of His story and Your Plan, and for the transformation of Life, Death, and Eternity through Jesus.
Everything Changed
