Today’s Encouragement is, “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7 NLT
Keep On Asking –
We are fickle. We get concerned about something today, pray fervently about it, ask others to pray, and then the issue is resolved, the pressure relaxes, we get distracted, or something else comes along- you name it! And we blithely go on to the next issue, situation, or crisis (real or imagined!). At least I find myself doing this often!
These are Jesus’ words. Keep on! Be persistent in asking, seeking, and knocking! These actions all refer to our relationship with the Father through prayer.
Persistence in Prayer is encouraged! We aren’t ‘bothering’ God by continuing to pray for the concerns of our hearts; if it concerns you, it concerns Him. As our perfect loving Father, He cares about our lost car keys, the bills coming due, the illness, the concerns for others, all of this and infinitely more. He is Unlimited!
Is it possible that, what He cares about most is… our heart? Our peace of mind? Our faith? He created us to be in relationship with Him; this is our highest purpose!
So we can nurture and care for our relationship by consistent, persistent communication with Him. Asking, Seeking, and Knocking. And we are assured that we will receive, find, and walk through the open door!
Father, we thank You for Your Love, Your promises, Your Wisdom, and Your blessings. We could never deserve such amazing kindness and Love.
