Today’s Encouragement is, “One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.” Luke 18:1 NLT
Always Pray II –
We pray to ask God to guide us, protect us, and provide for us. Prayer is not an obligation, duty, or spiritual exercise, it is a privilege!
In addition to “Always Pray” and “Never Give Up”, God’s Word provides many other thoughts on prayer.
Jesus instructed us to “pray like this” in the Lord’s Prayer (Luke 11:1-4)
And throughout the Bible –
Pray without ceasing (1 Timothy 5:17)
Pray with thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6)
Pray in faith (James 5:15)
Pray with persistence (Matthew 7:7)
Pray with expectancy (Mark 11:24)
Pray for your needs (Matthew 6:8)
Pray for others (Romans 1:9)
Pray in private (Matthew 6:6)
And most importantly,
Pray in Jesus’ Name (John 14:14)
Why all this about prayer? Because God Can, and we cannot! Without Jesus, we can do nothing (John 15:5), but we can do all things through Christ who gives us Strength (Phil 4:13).
Father God, we thank You with all that we have, that You have given us – the amazing privilege of prayer. Help us to pray!
