New Life –
Today’s Encouragement is, “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” 2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT
For believers in Christ, we have a definitive answer to the question of our identity. It’s throughout the Bible. It’s not what others think that matters; it’s not even what we think, it’s God’s absolute Truth, about you and me! It doesn’t matter who you were; this is Who You Are!
Father God, I thank You that:
– I am Your child (John 1:12), blood bought (1 Cor 6:20), sanctified (Heb 10:10), justified (Ro 5:1), made Righteous by the Blood of Jesus (Ro 5.9), and filled with Your Holy Spirit (John 14:16);
– No weapon formed against me will prevail (Is 54:17); You are my Ever-Present Help in time of trouble (Ps 46:1). You will never leave me nor forsake me (Heb 13:5)
– You have Good Plans for me, plans to bless me, to give me a hope and a future (Jer 29:11).
– I am more than a Conqueror (Ro 8:37). I have been given a spirit of power, love, and self-control, and not of fear! (2 Tim 1:7). I have the Mind of Christ (1 Cor 2:16). I am the righteousness of God. (2 Cor 5:21)
– Without You I can do nothing (John 15:5), but I can do all things through Christ who gives me Strength (Phil 4:13).
– You have called me to feed Your sheep (John 21:17); to be Your ambassador (2 Cor 5:20).
Thank You, Father, for New Life! Help us to accept, believe, and rejoice in Your Truth of our new identity in Christ!
