Today’s Encouragement is, “ I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.” 1 John 5:13 NLT
That you may know –
John concludes his letter to the believers with this explanation. He wrote them so they and now, we, may know.
Not so we can believe, think, imagine, consider, or any other human thought process. But that we may know! We can Know the truth with certainty, conviction, and confidence.
The difference between knowing and hoping or imagining is huge!
And the Truth we need to know, assuredly, confidently, and absolutely is… we have eternal life!
Perhaps you don’t have this assurance, the absolute confidence of your eternal salvation. It is readily available, my friend. John says that he has written this letter – so that you may KNOW.
So read his letter! Especially the wonderful fourth chapter, where he discloses the Truth that God IS Love, that He loves us, and we can love each other!
Thank You, Father, for providing us with this letter, only one portion of Your book, so that we may know, with full assurance and absolute confidence that we have Eternal Life!
