Today’s Encouragement is,” But if you fail to drive out the people who live in the land, those who remain will be like splinters in your eyes and thorns in your sides. They will harass you in the land where you live.” Numbers 33:55 NLT
Drive Out –
This is a spiritual Truth. Today, we aren’t taking possession of some enemy-occupied territory, but as believers, we are taking control (or more accurately, releasing control to Christ) over our hearts and minds, our spiritual condition. We’re invited to grow spiritually into God’s holiness (Colossians 1:9-10).
And as we choose to accept that opportunity, He will reveal the destructive habits, addictions, attitudes, and thoughts, all the things which harass us, and with His power, can be driven out of our lives.
In truth, we must admit that some death and decay remain in our lives. But today, we are reborn, new creations in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), and He can and has set us free! (Galatians 5:1)
Just like His people thousands of years ago, we can, by faith, choose to “drive out” the darkness within our lives, or continue to live with it. We can just live with the “splinters in your eyes and thorns in your sides,” or we can Drive it Out and live in His beautiful Freedom. His power does this, but first, we must choose.
Thank You Father, for allowing us the privilege of choice, and giving us the power to drive out the enemies who torment us so that we can live within the Freedom that You provide us.
