Today’s Encouragement is Acts 4:13 NLT The members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men with no special training in the Scriptures. They also recognized them as men who had been with Jesus.
They were ordinary-
Wait, aren’t we talking about the great disciples of Christ, Peter, and John? They lived with Him for years, heard Him preach with their own eyes, witnessed miracle after miracle! Weren’t they holy? Perfect? Floating-on-a-cloud-Apostles-of-Jesus?
Uh, no! My friends they were still – ordinary. Except in this way… They had … Been with Jesus!
When we have Been ‘with Jesus’… all bets are off! Everything is different! We cannot help but be transformed as we spend time in His presence!
Today, as we open His Word and hear His voice in the Word, He will speak to us through His Word, as we are able to hear. We spend time with Him in prayer, (listening more than speaking please!)
Want to be like Peter and John… an ordinary person who has been with Jesus?
