Today’s Encouragement is Matthew 15:32 NLT Then Jesus called his disciples and told them, “I feel sorry for these people. They have been here with me for three days, and they have nothing left to eat. I don’t want to send them away hungry, or they will faint along the way.”
Here with me –
For three days these people followed Jesus, hanging on His every word, amazed by dozens of miracles (v30), and praising God (v31).
Can you imagine such an experience? Spending 3 days with Jesus? So that all the food you’d brought was gone, they had to see that it was running out… and what about their work, their homes… all the responsibilities of this life?
All things had been set aside for worship! All things set aside in order to just – Be. With. Jesus.
Selah- pause and consider that…
Notice Jesus’ response to this great crowd of people… the ESV reads, “I have compassion for them…” What kindness and Love from our Lord!
So, He provides food for them, meets their need, kindly, graciously, freely, He fed thousands… who had spent three days following, watching, listening to Him… and worshipping God. (V 31b) “And they praised the God of Israel.”
Thank You Father for the Love and compassion You have for Your children. Help us to be so amazed in Your Presence that we too forget to eat, forget about all the cares of this life, and are simply amazed by Who You are!
