Today’s Encouragement is Romans 5:11 (NLT) “So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.”
New relationship –
It’s a good practice sometimes, to read scripture very slowly, savoring each word, phrase, and thought. His word is living and alive (Hebrews 4:12), and is our food (Matt 4:4).
So now (at this time, as the saved children of God…)
We can rejoice (celebrate, relax, be at peace and content…)
in our wonderful new relationship with God (we are in a wonderful new relationship with God! it is Wonderful to belong to Him, to be In Him, to be a part of Him, to have Him living within us!… no other relationship can even come close!)
because our Lord Jesus Christ (when Jesus became our Lord… everything changed… we became new creations, we were cleansed forever of every flaw, every sin, every wound we’ve ever received or inflicted on others… completely clean… without fault or even a blemish)
has made us friends with God. (How amazing is this thought? …we are God’s Friends! His children, His sheep, His followers, His people… these are a little easier to accept… but seriously – Friends? With God?
This is our New Relationship with God… a relationship which is full of wonder, amazing, overwhelming…
My friends, approach God as your friend… recognizing who He is, as Almighty Creator, Eternal Father… and Our Friend! This is our Wonderful New Relationship! Rejoice in Him!
Thank You Father God for creating for us, a wonderful new relationship with You… that we are now, already, your friends, and You are now, already our Friend. Help us to rejoice in our relationship with you! To spend time with You, to talk frequently with You, and to listen carefully as You speak to us! We thank You and we pray in Jesus’ Name.
