Live in triumph

Romans 5:17b NLT “…But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.”

Live in triumph-

All who receive God’s wonderful grace… and gift of His righteousness…

All – anyone, even you, and me!

Who receive – accept, embrace, believe

God’s wonderful Grace – His favor and blessing which we have not, and never can earn…

And gift of righteousness- friends we are made holy, perfect, and pure… just as Jesus is pure… by God’s astounding gift of righteousness.  In fact, we ourselves are His righteousness! (2 Cor 5:21)

All these will live in triumph! And our Triumph is over both sin and death!

Triumph is also translated as ‘Victory’ in other versions.  We are victorious and triumphant over both sin and death, when we have accepted the amazing gift of God’s Grace. 

Now, we all still sin, and we will all still die, so we may reasonably ask, ‘How exactly is there triumph, victory over sin and death?’  The distinction is outcome, and the perspective of God.  In God’s sight, His perspective (which of course, is the one which really counts!)… we are made perfectly righteous, clean, forgiven, as if we had never sinned… and again in His perspective… our death, as His children, is merely stepping out of this life, this world, and into His World… eternity, Heaven, paradise.  Where Jesus has gone ahead of us… to prepare a place for us!

So, it’s True, we see it and know it only by faith, by choosing God’s perspective, and accepting His Gift of Living, now, in this life, in complete Triumph over sin and death!
