Today’s Encouragement is 1 Peter 3:15a (NLT) Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life.
Lord of your life –
We all have accepted Christ as our Savior, but Is He the Lord of our life? What does that mean?
The New Testament was written in the Greek language, and the Greek word translated here as “Lord” is kurios, which is defined as lord, master, sir, and owner. (Recognize that there is no one English word which matches perfectly and exclusively with Greek. Just as ‘Senor’ in Spanish can mean sir, lord, mister, or master.)
So, let’s briefly explore ‘Lord’ and a few of its synonyms.
Master – one who is in charge, an overseer, one with absolute control. Owner – the one with all the rights, power, and authority to direct, manage, control, and use something (someone).
Remember, in various places we are called His servants, His sheep, His followers, His friends, His brothers and sisters… There’s no getting around it my friends. Jesus is Lord! Whether people accept it or not.
And because He is Lord… and because we acknowledge, accept it, and believe it… we need to live it… Live today, in the Truth that Jesus is Lord of your Life. He’s got you and me… He is our Owner. He is going to take care of us today and always!
Lord Jesus, help us to submit our entire lives to You as our Lord, our Master, our Owner, and our Shepherd. That we may go where You lead us, say what You want us to say, do what You want us to do. We fail at times; thank You for Your Grace and Forgiveness for those failures. We choose now and always, to worship You Jesus, as Lord of our lives! We surrender our lives to You as Lord.
