Today’s Encouragement is 1 Peter 3:15 (NLT) Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it.
Always be ready –
Many may say to us, “The bible is just a really old book of stories.” “You know there are many religions and some people who practice them are very good people”. “It’s ridiculous to claim to have the only way, everyone knows that there are many roads that lead to God.” “There are lots of contradictions in the Bible, everyone knows that!” “It’s impossible to live the ‘Christian life’, no one can really do that, didn’t Jesus say we should be perfect? How crazy is that!”
These questions, claims, arguments, and accusations go on and on…. And always have my friends, always will. Some of these are from non-believers, who just ‘can’t accept’ the Bible and the Truth of Jesus. Yet at times, we believers have questions also; we are tempted to listen to the questions, to consider the arguments of the world against our beliefs. And for this likelihood, we are wise to follow Peter’s counsel… “Worship Christ as Lord and be ready to explain your hope as a believer.”
We all have accepted Christ as Lord, He is our Savior, Redeemer, and Friend! Yet are we ready to explain our hope?
Father God, help us to learn, to study, and to be ready, always, to explain our Hope in Jesus.
