Today’s Encouragement is Psalm 81:13 NLT Oh, that my people would listen to me! Oh, that Israel would follow me, walking in my paths!
Listen to me –
God speaks to His children. He speaks in unlimited ways, for He has no limits. Primarily through the Holy Spirit living within us, and also through His written Word, He speaks!
When we claim we cannot hear Him, say we don’t know what to do, which way to go, what God’s will is for us… we do not speak the truth… He has spoken and He still speaks! We must train our ears, our minds, our own spirit, our own will… to ‘hear’ His Voice. The problem is our hearing, our listening, not His speaking.
When we understand that Jesus restored us to right standing, to righteousness before God, we are now, already, as close to God as Jesus is, as close as Adam was in Eden. We now, already have the mind of Christ! (1 Cor. 2:16)
My friends, God’s voice, what He speaks to His deeply loved children, will always, always, always line up with His Word, the Truth reflected in the Bible. Because… He does not change.
So, we can ‘hear’ His ‘voice’! We can know His will, we can walk in His paths… and doing so, we remain under His blessing. We can do all things through Christ (Phil. 4:13)
God wants us to hear Him and walk in His ways. Because He loves us, He wants what is best for His children, just as we earthly parents do.
The choice is ours. Father God, help us to hear and listen to You and walk in Your paths.
