Today’s Encouragement is 1 Kings 18:21 And Elijah came near to all the people and said, “How long will you go limping between two different opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him.” And the people did not answer him a word.
How long will you go limping –
Other translations say ‘How long will you waver?’ Wavering, limping- pretty descriptive of Indecision don’t you think?
We often ride the fence, don’t we, wavering between serving God and serving ourselves; honoring Him and pleasing people. And this Limping accomplishes nothing my friends, except weaken our ability to commit to anything. And when not committed, dedicated, nor resolved, we flounder, we’re blown by every wind of teaching, theory, and even foolish social media post that ‘seems’ like wisdom.
The encouragement here my friends is that when we choose to follow God, to serve Him, to dedicate ourselves to Him, we realize that He is the source of all Wisdom, Love, and Truth.
He IS God and we can choose to follow Him.
