Today’s Encouragement is John 17:22-23 The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, [23] I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.
I in them –
Jesus prayed, as He neared death, that the world may know that God sent Him, and that we would be perfectly one, because He. is. within. us!
“I in them, and You in me.” Jesus is in us. And God is in Jesus. Jesus is our mediator, our go-between, to God the Father. This is a mystery – that Jesus, the God-Man, could be IN us, fully, not just a little influence, but fully overtaking us, every believer…
Notice His prayer is that the world may know 1) God sent Jesus and 2) God loves us just as He loves Jesus.
Father God, we are amazed that You would choose to live in us, through Jesus and the Holy Spirit. We do not understand this very well at all, yet we trust You, Your Word, Your Truth. Grant us hearts of true faith, accepting You Truth, living in Your Truth, even when we don’t fully understand it. You are God; we are not.
Christ in you the hope of Glory
